Who We Are at America's Pastime

America’s Pastime was founded in 1987 by Richard Saltzman. In the 80’s he worked for his father, who owned a candy and tobacco distributor. At that time, all sport cards (retail not hobby), went through these channels.

He saw a surge in sport cards at shows and at retail, and took an interest in the market. Internet did not exist back then, so he joined a system called Sport Net, which was used to buy and sell sports memorabilia and cards. From that system, he was able to follow market trends, and rode the wave until 1996. During that time, he put away a little of everything that was offered to him. He kept adding a few things after the wave ended, and kept collecting card sets.

Fast forward to 2023, after 55 years in business, he decided to inventory the collection with his sons Sammy, and Ryan. They brought back the name America’s Pastime, with the great logo.
